The Fountain Court Chambers graduate law scholarship
We are delighted to announce that Fountain Court
Chambers in London has generously funded an annual graduate law
scholarship at Oxford. The scholarship, worth £10,000 annually,
will be given for a student to undertake either the BCL/M Jur one-year
taught course or to those embarking on a one-year Law research
degree within the Law Faculty (MPhil, MSt, or final year of DPhil
). Available to Home/EU and non-EU students. This scholarship may
not be held in conjunction with any other award if the effect would
be to take the student's funding for the year above £12,000
.

Candidates should submit:
i) two references; ( please note new applicants ,
references will be taken from your graduate application. Current
Law postgraduates will need to submit two references
to support your funding application).
ii) for Research students only a 2,000 word statement of the proposed research.
iii) a full statement of the candidate's available funding, including any outstanding
applications.

Complete applications must be lodged before the Law Faculty
Office closes on Friday, 23 January 2009. The Funding Committee meets very soon after the deadline
so there is no leeway for applications to be completed after the deadline.
Applicants must notify Geraldine Malloy of the subsequent results of any outstanding funding competitions, when they are known. Successful candidates will be notified by letter of the outcome of their application by the beginning of April 2009. Please note due to the volume of applications received, we are unable to contact unsuccessful applicants individually or provide feedback on their applications.
Prospective applicants are asked to note that for Faculty scholarships (but not college or university awards, for which separate applications must be made) there is one application form common to all the studentships listed below; and if you complete and return that form with the relevant supporting material, you will be considered for all the awards for which you are eligible (so you won't need to complete a separate application for each of the studentships for which you wish to be considered).
