Last November the Law Faculty hosted the "Oxford Law Alumni" reception in the Egyptian Hall of the Mansion House in London. It was the first event of its kind and the response was overwhelming. The Rt Hon. Christopher Patten, CH, Chancellor of the University addressed over 500 people gathered to reunite with their Oxford ties and to share in the good spirit of the evening. As a result, Oxford alumni from outside London have requested similar types of gatherings.

Given this demand and the number of alumni in the region, the Law Faculty chose Manchester as the next city to host such an event. On the 29th of September 2004, the Chair of the Law Board and The Faculty of Law of the University will host a reception at URBIS, Cathedral Gardens, Manchester. The event will be held 6:00- 8:00 pm for all Oxford lawyers and Oxford law alumni. Several faculty members and current law students have asked to attend as well, promising an excellent evening for all.
