The Oxford Law Faculty has a number of important academic concentrations that operate outside its formally constituted research centres and institutes. The Faculty is particularly well-known for its long history of pioneering work in the common law of obligations and in the philosophy of law, but nowadays there are several other areas of international pre-eminence. The following academic specialisations currently have their own public websites, which contain information about teaching and supervision as well as research:

bulletLegal Philosophy in Oxford is the network of Oxford's philosophically-trained lawyers and legally-trained philosophers, maintaining our pre-eminence in the field.

bulletPublic International Law at Oxford, at the forefront of legal thinking about today's major international problems, from the conduct of war to the globalisation of trade.

bulletTaxation Law at Oxford, a recently renewed Oxford strength, integrating tax law with other areas of legal study and linked with the Oxford University Centre for Business Taxation
